JOHN ALFORD

Director. BPHTY, MSPORT PHTY

APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

Hailing from a cattle grazing family in Central Queensland, John completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy through James Cook University in 2010. He has since worked in private practices in North Queensland, treating musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. Committed to providing the best quality care for his clients, John completed the Master of Sports Physiotherapy program through LaTrobe University in 2021. This further study provided opportunities to work with and learn from Physiotherapists within elite sporting organisations, such as the North Queensland Cowboys and the ACT Brumbies.

John holds positions on the Queensland Branch Council and the Rural Advisory Committee for the Australian Physiotherapy Association. This is an important means of giving back to the profession while keeping abreast of issues faced by physiotherapists, particularly rural practitioners.

Physical activity has been central to John's life, and he particularly enjoyed rugby union, touch football, gym, and running. His specific interests in Physiotherapy include sporting injuries and rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation, side-line Physiotherapy at sporting events, complex injuries and vertigo.
